Jim “Pee Wee” Martin is still going strong at 92 and is one of the last of the original "Toccoa Men" that trained as paratroopers during World War II. A member of G Company, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division, Mr. Martin is hoping to retrace his steps through the battles he participated in while a young man in Europe. Mr. Martin was with the 506th all the way from Normandy to Holland, and from Bastogne to Berchtesgaden.
I have been speaking with Mr. Martin for a couple of weeks now (via Facebook…yes, he’s on Facebook!), and I can tell you that he really enjoys hearing from younger people that know what he and the men of his generation did for all of us.
