Jim “Pee Wee” Martin

Jim "Pee Wee" Martin

Jim “Pee Wee” Martin is still going strong at 92 and is one of the last of the original "Toccoa Men" that trained as paratroopers during World War II. A member of G Company, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division, Mr. Martin is hoping to retrace his steps through the battles he participated in while a young man in Europe. Mr. Martin was with the 506th all the way from Normandy to Holland, and from Bastogne to Berchtesgaden.

I have been speaking with Mr. Martin for a couple of weeks now (via Facebook…yes, he’s on Facebook!), and I can tell you that he really enjoys hearing from younger people that know what he and the men of his generation did for all of us. Lately, he's even been Skyping with friends and admirers over in Europe. If you would like, contributions to get "Pee Wee" his trip to Europe can be made through the link below. I know we'd ALL love a trip to Europe, but I can't think of anyone more deserving than a man who paid a great deal for our freedom over there.
